The aim of this blog is to present the most complete gigography from Killing Joke from 1979 to 1996. Using / working with the dates from the site anirrationaldomain.net , with the ones from the official KJ site or with the ones from godsandalcoves.com was a good start for me. RépondreSupprimerI was at that concert. The Grand Odéon venue in Montpellier still exists today, now called the Rockstore, with its striking canopy!
RépondreSupprimerThe venue (a former church in the city centre) was absolutely packed for this concert.
At the time, this venue had the unusual feature of a wooden floor with very uneven slats. And in those halcyon days, the whole audience was allowed to smoke at concerts. (Smoke was guaranteed, and there was much less body odour in the mosh pits! ;o)
A cigarette butt must have set fire to the cellars, because suddenly we could see a nice fire developing between each floorboard (the fright of my life, on the grill).
The club employees quickly sprayed everything with fire extinguishers, barely interrupting the set, and off we went again. What a memory!
J’étais à ce concert. La salle du Grand Odéon à Montpellier existe toujours, appelée aujourd’hui « Rockstore » , avec cet auvent si percutant !
Sur ce concert, la salle (une ancienne église en centre-ville) était vraiment bondée.
Cette salle avait la particularité d’avoir à cette époque un plancher en bois, avec des lattes très disjointes. Et à cette belle époque, tout le public pouvait fumer en concert. (Fumigènes assurés, et beaucoup moins d’odeurs corporelles dans les pogos ! ;o)
Un mégot a dû mettre le feu dans les caves, on voyait soudain entre chaque latte de plancher un joli feu se développer (la peur de ma vie, sur le grill)
Les employés du club ont vite arrosé tout ça avec des extincteurs, à peine une interruption du set, c’est reparti de plus belle. Énorme souvenir !
